သုံးလုံးတြဲ စကားလုံးေလးေတြကလည္း က်ေနာ္တို႕ ေတြ႕ေနျမင္ေနက် စကားလုံး လြယ္လြယ္ေလးေတြနဲ႕ ေပါင္းစပ္ထားၾကတာပါ ၊ ဒါေပမယ္႕ အဓိပၸါယ္ ေတြကေတာ႕ က်ယ္၀န္းလာပါတယ္ ၊ သုံးရတာလည္း အခက္ၾကီးေတြေတာ႕ မဟုတ္ပါဘူး ၊ ဘာသာရပ္ဆိုင္ရာ ဆရာေတြကေတာ႕ ဒီစကားလုံးေလးေတြဟာ ေပးတဲ႕ အဓိပၸါယ္ရဲ႕ သဘာ၀ကို ပိုျပီး ေပၚလြင္ေစတယ္လို႕ ေျပာၾကပါတယ္ ..

Three word expressions

1) black and white = အျဖဴအမဲ သဲကြဲစြာ ၊ ထင္ထင္ရွားရွား ျပတ္ျပတ္သားသား ၊ တိတိက်က်

"He told her in black and white that she couldn't leave the house while he was out."
သူက ၊ သူမရွိတဲ႕အခုိက္မွာ အိမ္ကို ပစ္ျပီး အျပင္ကိုထြက္မသြားဖို႕ သူမကို ျပတ္ျပတ္သားသား ေျပာတယ္ ။

2) dos and don'ts = ေဆာင္ရန္ေရွာင္ရန္ စည္းကမ္းခ်က္ေတြ

"There are various do's and don'ts about driving in Korea"
ကိုရီးယားမွာ ကားေမာင္းဖို႕ရာ ေဆာင္ရန္ေရွာင္ရန္ စည္းကမ္းခ်က္ေတြ အမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳး ရွိတယ္ ။

3) haves and have nots = ပိုက္ဆံရွိတဲ႕သူေတြနဲ႕ မရွိတဲ႕သူေတြ

"In Myanmar you can find the haves and have nots of the population."
ျမန္မာမွာ ပိုက္ဆံရွိတဲ႕သူေတြနဲ႕ မရွိတဲ႕သူေတြကို ေတြ႕နိုင္တယ္ ။

4) ins and outs = အေသးစိတ္ အခ်က္အလက္မ်ား

"I don't know the ins and outs of the situation, so I can't really advise you."
အျဖစ္အပ်က္ရဲ႕ အေသးစိတ္အခ်က္အလက္ေတြကို က်ေနာ္မသိပါဘူး ၊ ဒါေၾကာင္႕ က်ေနာ္ အၾကံမေပးနိုင္ပါဘူး ။

5) odds and ends = အမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳးေသာ အတိုအစေလးေတြ

"She made a dish with the odds and ends she found in the fridge."
သူက ေရခဲ႕ေသတၱာထဲမွာ ေတြ႕တဲ႕ အတိုအစေလးေတြ နဲ႕ ဟင္းလ်ာတစ္ခြက္ လုပ္လိုက္တယ္ ။

6) P's and Q's = ယဥ္ေက်းဖြယ္ရာ အျပဳအမူေလးေတြ ၊ အေျပာအဆိုေလးေတြ

"Mind your P's and Q's when you visit them!"
မင္းသူတို႕ဆီကို အလည္သြားတဲ႕ အခါ ယဥ္ေက်းဖြယ္ရာ အျပဳအမူေလးေတြကို ဂရုစိုက္ပါ (သတိထားပါ ) ။

7) pros and cons = ေကာင္းခ်က္နဲ႕ ဆိုးကြက္ေတြ ၊ အက်ိဳးနဲ႕ အျပစ္

"There are a few pros and cons that we should consider before buying a new car"
ေကာင္းကြက္နဲ႕ ဆိုးကြက္ေတြ နဲနဲ ရွိတဲ႕အတြက္ေၾကာင္႕ ကားသစ္တစ္စီး မ၀ယ္ခင္ တို႕ စဥ္းစားသင္႕တယ္ ။

8) rights and wrongs = အမွားေတြ အမွန္ေတြ ၊

"Regardless of the rights and wrongs of company policy, you need to give a month's notice."
ကုမၸဏီရဲ႕ ေပၚလစီ ( မူ၀ါဒ ) အမွန္ေတြ အမွားေတြ ထည္႕တြက္မေနပဲနဲ႕ တစ္လၾကိဳတင္ျပီး သတိေပးခ်က္ထုတ္ဖို႕လိုအပ္တယ္ ။

9) tried and tested = ေကာင္းေကာင္း စမ္းထားၾကည္႕ျပီးတဲ႕ ၊ စိတ္ခ်ရတဲ႕

"Using salt is a tried and tested way of getting red wine out of a carpet."
ဆားကို သုံးျခင္းဟာ ေကာ္ေဇာမွာစြန္းေနတဲ႕ ၀ိုင္အနီေတြကို ခြ်တ္တဲ႕ ေကာင္းေကာင္း စမ္းသပ္ထားျပီးသား နည္းလမ္းတစ္ခုပါ ။

10)  ups and downs = အတက္အက်ေတြ ၊ ဘ၀မွာ ေကာင္းတဲ႕အခ်ိန္ေတြနဲ႕ ဆိုးတဲ႕အခ်ိန္ေတြ

"They have a lot of ups and downs in their relationship."
သူတို႕ရဲ႕ ဆက္ဆံေရးမွာ အတက္အက်ေတြ အမ်ားၾကီး ရွိခဲ႕တယ္ ။

Life is full of ups and downs.
ဘ၀ဆိုတာ အတက္ေတြ အက်ေတြနဲ႕ ျပည္႕ေနတယ္ ။

11)  come and go = ေနရာတစ္ခုကို လြပ္လြပ္လပ္လပ္ သြားဖို႕လာဖို႕ ခြင္႕ျပဳတယ္

"Feel free to come and go as you please!"
ခင္ဗ်ား စိတ္ေက်နပ္သလို လြပ္လြပ္ လပ္လပ္ လာခ်င္လာ ၊ သြားခ်င္သြား လုပ္ပါ  (လုပ္နိုင္ပါတယ္) ။

12)  cat and mouse =  တစ္စုံတစ္ခုကို ေၾကာင္နဲ႕ၾကြက္ ကစားသလို ကစားတယ္ ၊ ထင္သလိုျခယ္လွယ္လုပ္ကိုင္ေနတယ္ ၊

play (a) cat and mouse ( game ), play a cat and mouse စသည္ျဖင္႕သုံးတယ္

"Our football team can play a cat and mouse game with the Korean team"
က်ေနာ္တို႕ ေဘာလုံးအသင္းက ကိုရီးယားအသင္းကို ေကာင္းေကာင္း ျခယ္လွယ္ ကစားနိုင္တယ္ ( ပညာျပ ကစားနိုင္တယ္ )

She is playing a cat and mouth with me .
သူမက က်ေနာ္႕ကို ေၾကာင္က ၾကြက္ကို ကစားသလုိ လုပ္ေနတယ္ ။

13)  by and large = ေယဘူယ်အားျဖင္႕

"By and large, our customers prefer good service to low prices."
ေယဘူယ်အားျဖင္႕ေတာ႕ က်ေနာ္တို႕ ေဖါက္သည္ေတြက ေစ်းႏွဳန္းနိမ္႕တာထက္ ၀န္ေဆာင္မွဳ ပိုေကာင္းတာကို ႏွစ္ျခိဳက္ ၾကတယ္ ။

14)  flesh and blood = အေသြးအသား ၊ မိသားစု၀င္ ၊ ေဆြမ်ိဳးရင္းခ်ာ
  own flesh and blood လည္းသုံးပါတယ္

"I have to help him if I can – he's my flesh and blood."
က်ေနာ္ကူညီနိင္ရင္ သူ႕ကို ကူညီရမယ္ ၊ သူက က်ေနာ္႕ရဲ႕ ေဆြမ်ိဳးရင္းခ်ာေလ ။

I couldn't send him away - he's my own flesh and blood.
က်ေနာ္သူ႕ကို အေ၀း မပို႕နိုင္ဘူး ၊ သူက က်ေနာ္ရဲ႕ ေသြးသားရင္းခ်ာပါ ။

15)  down and out = ပိုက္ဆံမရွိလုိ႕ လမ္းေပၚမွာပဲ ေနရသူ

"There are too many young down and outs in Yangon."
ပိုက္ဆံမရွိလို႕ လမ္းေပၚမွာပဲ ေနၾကရတဲ႕ လူငယ္ေလးေတြ ရန္ကုန္မွာ အမ်ားၾကီးပဲ ။

16)  Dead and buried = ေသဆုံးျမွဳပ္နွံလိုက္ျပီ ၊ ျပီးဆုံးသြားလို႕ ျပန္မေပၚလာနိုင္ေတာ႕တဲ႕ အရာ

My dreams are all dead and buried .
က်ေနာ္႕ အိပ္မက္ေတြ အားလုံး ျပီးဆုံးေပ်ာက္ကြယ္သြားပါျပီ ။

17)  Spick and span = သိပ္ကို သန္႕ရွင္းသပ္ရပ္တယ္

"Her house is spick and span at all times."
သူ႕ရဲ႕ အိမ္က အခ်ိန္တိုင္းပဲ သန္႕ရွင္းသပ္ရပ္ေနတယ္ ။

18)  To and fro = အသြားအျပန္ ၊ သြားလိုက္ျပန္လိုက္
( To and from လည္းသုံးနိုင္သလို ၊ back and forth လည္းသုံးနိုင္ပါတယ္ )

"I'm exhausted – I've been going to and fro all week!"
တစ္ပတ္လုံးသြားလိုက္ျပန္လိုက္ လုပ္ေနရလို႕ က်ေနာ္ေမာရတယ္ ။

Taungyi Airways  fly to and from Korea.
ေတာင္ၾကီးေလေၾကာင္းလိုင္းက ကိုရီးယားနဲ႕ အသြားအျပန္ ရွိတယ္ (ပ်ံသန္းတယ္) ။

You can go back and forth as much as you please.
မင္းစိတ္တိုင္းက် သြားလိုက္ျပန္လိုက္ ၾကိဳက္သေလာက္ လုပ္နိုင္တယ္ ။

19)  Around and about = ဟိုနား ဒီနား ( ဘယ္ေနရာဆိုတာ တိတိက်က် မေျပာလိုတဲ႕အခါ )

"Where have you been – I've been worried!"
မင္းဘယ္ေနရာေရာက္ေနတာလဲ ၊ ဒီမွာ စိတ္ပူေနတယ္
"Oh, around and about, you know."
အိုး! သိတယ္မဟုတ္လား ၊ ဟိုနားဒီနားေလးပါ ။

20)  Hide and seek = တူတူပုန္းတမ္းကစားတာ ၊ ပစၥည္းဖြက္တမ္းကစားတာ

" Lets play hide and seek with the TV remote control! "
TV remote ကို ဖြက္တမ္းရွာတမ္း ကစားရေအာင္ !

If you wanna play hide and seek with love, let me remind you.
မင္းက အခ်စ္နဲ႕ တူတူပုန္တမ္းကစားခ်င္တယ္ ဆိုရင္ ငါမင္းကိုသတိေပးပါရေစ ..

21)   Wine and dine = ညစာ ၊ ၀ိုင္အရက္စတဲ႕ တန္ဘိုးၾကီး အစားအေသာက္ေတြနဲ႕ ဧည္႕ခံေကြ်းေမြးတာ ( ၀ိုင္မပါလည္း သုံးတာပါပဲ )

"He's well-known for wining and dining his business partners."
သူက စီပြားေရးမိတ္ေဆြေတြကို ေကြ်းေမြးဧည္႕ခံတတ္တာမွာ လူသိမ်ားတယ္ ။

22)  Bread and butter = ပင္မအလုပ္ ၊ အသက္ေမြး၀မ္းေက်ာင္းအလုပ္ ၊ ထမင္းရွင္ ၊

Teaching at the college is his bread and butter.
ေကာလိပ္မွာ စာသင္ေပးတာက သူ႕ရဲ႕ ပင္မ အလုပ္ပါ ။

Our customers are our bread and butter, so treat them with respect.
က်ေနာ္တို႕ ေဖါက္သည္ေတြက က်ေနာ္တို႕ရဲ႕ ထမင္းရွင္ေတြပါ ၊ ဒါေၾကာင္႕ သူတို႕ကို ေလးေလးစားစား ဆက္ဆံပါ ။

23)  trial and error = တစ္ခုခု ျပီးေျမာက္ေအာင္ျမင္မွဳအတြက္ စမ္းသပ္လုပ္ေဆာင္မွဳေတြကို ထပ္ခါထပ္ခါ အမွားခံျပီး ၊ အမွားေတြကေန အေျဖရွာျပီး လုပ္ေဆာင္တာ

24)  Up and running = တက္တက္ၾကြၾကြ ေကာင္းေကာင္းမြန္မြန္နဲ႕ လုပ္ေဆာင္ေနတာ ၊ သက္၀င္လွဳပ္ရွားတာ

"The new company is now up and running."
ကုမၸဏီ အသစ္က တက္တက္ၾကြၾကြနဲ႕ လုပ္ေဆာင္ေနတယ္

It took several years to get the law practice up and running.
ဥပေဒနဲ႕က်င္႕သားရျပီး  သက္၀င္လွဳပ္ရွားလာဖို႕ နွစ္ေတာ္ေတာ္ၾကာခဲ႕ပါတယ္ ။

25)  Done and dusted = ေအာင္ျမင္စြာလုပ္ေဆာင္ျပီးဆုံးသြားတာ 

We expect the deal to be done and dusted before the end of next week.
ေနာက္တစ္ပတ္ မကုန္ဆုံးခင္မွာ ေဆြးေႏြးညွိနွိဳင္းမွဳ ေအာင္ျမင္စြာျပီးဆုံးသြားလိမ္႕မယ္လို႕ က်ေနာ္တို႕ ေမွ်ာ္လင္႕ပါတယ္ ။
