ခ်စ္သူမ်ားေန...St. Valentine

ကမာၻတြင္ ခ်စ္သူမ်ားေန႔(Valentine's Day)ကို ႏွစ္စဥ္ ေဖေဖၚဝါရီ (၁၄)ရက္ေန႔ဟု သတ္မွတ္သည္။ ထိုေန႔သို႔ ေရာက္တိုင္း ကမၻာတစ္၀ွမ္းလံုး မွာရွိေသာ ခ်စ္သူမ်ားအၾကား အမွတ္တရ ခ်စ္လက္ေဆာင္မ်ားအျဖစ္ သၾကားလံုး၊ ပန္းႏွင့္ အျခား ခ်စ္သက္လက္ေဆာင္မ်ားကို St. Valentine အမည္ႏွင့္ အျပန္အလွန္ လဲလွယ္ ေပးပို႔ေလ့ ရွိၾကပါသည္။ သို႔ေသာ္ St. Valentine ဆိုသည့္ ထူးျခားေသာ သူေတာင္စင္အေၾကာင္းကို မသိၾကသလို ဘာေၾကာင့္ St. Valentine အထိမ္းအမွတ္ပြဲကို အားလပ္ရက္အျဖစ္ သတ္မွတ္ က်င္းပၾကတယ္ဆိုတာကိုလည္း အမွတ္တမဲ့ ျဖစ္ၾကတာမ်ားပါသည္။
ေယဘုယ်အားျဖင့္ေတာ့ ေဖေဖာ္၀ါရီလဟာ အခ်စ္ရည္အခ်စ္ေသြး လႊမ္းေနတဲ့ ခ်စ္ျခင္းေမတၱာကို ကိုယ္စားျပဳတဲ့ လတစ္လလို႔ သိထားၾကပါသည္။ ယေန႔ေခတ္ နားလည္ထားၾကေသာ St. Valentine Day သည္ ေရွးေခတ္ ေရာမရိုးရာႏွင့္ ခရစ္ယာန္ ဘာသာအတြက္ အေလးအျမတ္ထားေသာ ေန႔ထူးေန႔ျမတ္ တစ္ခု ျဖစ္ပါသည္။
ဒီေန႔ေခတ္မွာ ကက္သိုလစ္ ဘုရားေက်ာင္းေတြက သိနားလည္ထားၾကတာကေတာ့ Valentine အမည္တြင္တဲ့ သူေတာ္စင္ သံုးဦးရွိပါတယ္။ ဒ႑ာရီတစ္ခုက အတည္ျပဳထားတာကေတာ့ Valentine ဆိုတာ သံုးရာစုေလာက္က ေရာမမွာ ေပၚထြန္းခဲ့တဲ့ ဘုန္းေတာ္ၾကီး တစ္ပါးလို႔ ဆိုထားပါတယ္။ ေရာမျပည့္ရွင္မင္း ကေလာဒီးယပ္စ္ ၂ က တိုင္းျပည္မွာ ရွိသမွ် အိမ္ေထာင္သည္မ်ားကို မေရြးခ်ယ္ပဲ အရြယ္ေရာက္သူ လူပ်ိဳလူလြတ္မ်ားကို စစ္မႈထမ္းေစပါတယ္။ အဲဒီအခါ သူေတာ္စင္ Valentine ဟာ ဘုရင္ ကေလာဒီးယပ္စ္ တားျမစ္ထားတဲ့ ဥပေဒအျပင္ဘက္ ကေန စစ္မႈထမ္းသူ လူငယ္မ်ားကို သူတို႔ရဲ႕ ခ်စ္သူမ်ားနဲ႔ တိတ္တဆိတ္ လက္ထပ္ေပးခဲ့ပါတယ္။ Valentine ရဲ႕ လုပ္ရပ္မ်ားကို ဘုရင္သိသြားတဲ့ အခါ ေသဒဏ္ခ်မွတ္လိုက္ပါတယ္။ အျခားပံုျပင္မ်ားမွာေတာ့ Valentine ဟာ အက်ဥ္းေထာင္မ်ားထဲက ခရစ္ယာန္အက်ဥ္းသားမ်ားကို လြတ္ေျမာက္ေအာင္ ၾကိဳးပမ္းေပးမႈေၾကာင့္ သတ္ျဖတ္ခံလိုက္ရတယ္လို႔လည္း ဆိုၾကပါေသးတယ္။
ေနာက္ထပ္ ဒ႑ာရီတစ္ခုကေတာ့ သူေတာ္စင္ Valentine က ပမထဆံုးခ်စ္သက္လက္ေဆာင္ကို သူကိုယ္တိုင္ ေပးပို႔ခဲ့တယ္လို႔ ဆိုထားပါတယ္။ အက်ဥ္းခ်ခံရစဥ္မွာ Valentine ဟာ သူ႔ထံ အလည္လာေတြ႕တတ္သူ ေထာင္မွဴးသမီးနဲ႔ ခ်စ္ၾကိဳးသြယ္ခဲ့ပါတယ္။ သူ မေသဆံုးခင္ စာတစ္ေစာင္ ေရးသားခဲ့ရာမွာ "From Your Valentine" လို႔ လက္မွတ္ေရးထိုးထားပါသတဲ့။ စာအေရးအသားကို ေထာက္ရႈျခင္းအားျဖင့္ ယေန႔ေခတ္ အသံုးအႏႈန္း ရင္ဖြင့္စာမ်ားနဲ႔ တူညီေနတာကို ေတြ႕ရပါတယ္။ ပါးစပ္ရာဇ၀င္ေတြ အမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳး ကြဲလြဲေနေပမယ့္ Valentine ဒ႑ာရီမ်ားရဲ႕ ေနာက္ကြယ္မွာ အမွန္တရားတစ္ခုေတာ့ တိမ္ျမွဳပ္ေနပါတယ္။ ဘယ္လိုပဲျဖစ္ျဖစ္ မူကြဲေနတဲ့ Valentine ဒ႑ာရီမ်ားမွာ ၾကင္နာဂရုဏာတရား၊ သူရဲေကာင္းပီသမႈနဲ႔ အျခားအေရးပါေသာ ခ်စ္ေမတၱာရဲ႕ သေကၤတမ်ားကို အထင္အရွား ျပဆိုေနပါတယ္။
ေခတ္အလယ္ပိုင္းမွာေတာ့ Valentine ဒ႑ာရီဟာ ျပင္သစ္နဲ႔ အဂၤလန္ ႏိုင္ငံမ်ားမွာ အေတာ္ေလး ေခတ္စားေနခဲ့ျပီး အယူအဆ အမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳးကလည္း ဆင့္ပြားျဖစ္ေပၚလာပါတယ္။ တစ္ခ်ိဳ႕ကေတာ့ St.Valentine ဟာ ေခါင္းျဖတ္ အသတ္ခံရေၾကာင္း အဆိုရွိျပီး အျခားေျပာ စကားမ်ားကေတာ့ St. Valentine ဟာ ေထာင္ထဲမွာ နာဖ်ားျပီး ေသဆံုးခဲ့တယ္လို႔ သိရပါတယ္။ ၁၈၃၅ ခုႏွစ္မွာ St. Valentine ရဲ႕ ရုပ္ၾကြင္း (သို႔မဟုတ္) အရိုးျပာကို အိုင္ယာလန္ ဘုန္းေတာ္ၾကီး John Spratt ထံ ပုပ္ရဟန္းမင္းၾကီး Gregory XVI က ေပးအပ္ခဲ့တယ္လို႔ ဆိုပါတယ္။ ပုပ္ရဟန္းမင္းၾကီးရဲ႕ တရားေဟာ ေကာင္းမႈေၾကာင့္ ပုပ္ရဟန္းမင္းၾကီးကို အိုင္ယာလန္ ဘုန္းေတာ္ၾကီးက မ်ားစြာ အထင္ၾကီးေလးစားတယ္လို႔ သိရပါတယ္။ ဒီ့အတြက္ ေရာမကို ပုပ္ရဟန္းမင္းၾကီး အလည္အပတ္ေရာက္ခိုက္ ပုပ္ရဟန္းမင္းၾကီးက အနက္ေရာင္ပါေသာ ေရႊၾကဳပ္နဲ႔ ထည့္ထားတဲ့ St. Valentine ရဲ႕ အရိုးျပာမ်ားကို အိုင္ယာလန္ ဘုန္းေတာ္ၾကီးကို လက္ေဆာင္ေပးခဲ့ျခင္း ျဖ္စပါတယ္။ St. Valentine ရဲ႕ အရိုးျပာမ်ား ထည့္ထားတဲ့ ေရႊၾကဳပ္ကို Valentine's Day ေရာက္တိုင္း အိုင္ယာလန္ႏိုင္ငံ ဒူဘလင္ျမိဳ႕က Whitefriar Street Church မွာ လူတိုင္း သြားေရာက္ ၾကည့္ရႈႏိုင္ေၾကာင္း သိရပါတယ္။

Saint Valentine (in Latin, Valentinus) is a widely recognized third century Roman saint commemorated on February 14 and associated since the High Middle Ages with a tradition of courtly love. Nothing is reliably known of St. Valentine except his name and the fact that he died on the the 14th of February Via Flaminia in the north of Rome. It is uncertain whether St. Valentine is to be identified as one saint or two saints of the same name. Several differing martyrologies have been added to later hagiographies that are unreliable. For these reasons this liturgical commemoration was not kept in the Catholic calendar of saints for universal liturgical veneration as revised .[2] But the "Martyr Valentinus who died on the 14th of February on the Via Flaminia close to the Milvian bridge in Rome" still remains in the list of officially recognized saints for local veneration.[3] Saint Valentine's Church in Rome, built in 1960 for the needs of the Olympic Village, continues as a modern, well-visited parish church.[4]
In the Eastern Orthodox Church, Saint Valentine the Presbyter is celebrated on July 6 [5] and Hieromartyr Saint Valentine (Bishop of Interamna, Terni in Italy) is celebrated on July 30.[6] Notwithstanding, because of the relative obscurity of this western saint in the East, members of the Greek Orthodox Church named Valentinos (male) or Valentina (female) may celebrate their name day on the Western ecclesiastical calendar date of February 14

Identification
In the Roman Catholic Church the name Valentinus does not yet occur in the earliest list of Roman martyrs, compiled by the Chronographer of 354.[8] But it already can be found in the Martyrologium Hieronymianum,[9] which was compiled, from earlier local sources, between 460 and 544. The feast of St. Valentine of February 14 was first established in 496 by Pope Gelasius I, who included Valentine among all those "... whose names are justly reverenced among men, but whose acts are known only to God." As Gelasius implies, nothing was yet known to him about his life.
The Catholic Encyclopedia[10] and other hagiographical sources [11] speak of three Saint Valentines that appear in connection with Feb 14th. One was a Roman priest, another the bishop of Interamna (modern Terni) both buried along the Via Flaminia outside Rome, at different distances from the city. The third they say was a saint who suffered on the same day with a number of companions in the Roman province of Africa, for whom nothing else is known.
Though the extant accounts of the martyrdoms of the first two listed saints are of a late date and contain legendary elements, a common nucleus of fact may underlie the two accounts and they may refer to one single person..[12] According to the official biography of the Diocese of Terni, Bishop Valentine was born and lived in Interamna and was imprisoned and tortured in Rome on 14 February 273, while on a temporary stay there. His body was buried in a hurry at a nearby cemetery and a few nights later his disciples came and carried him home.[13]
Τhe Roman Martyrology, the Catholic Church's official list of recognized saints, for February 14 gives only one Saint Valentine; a martyr who died on the Via Flaminia.
